Physiology of Taste & Chemosensation

We are interested in how chemosensations are processed at the periphery and in the central nervous system. We combine molecular, cellular, and systems physiology to tackle this.

Physiology of CALHM Ion Channels

Calcium homeostasis modulator (CALHM) channels mediate various physiological processes including neurotransmission of tastes in taste buds. We use electrophysiological, optical, and systems approaches to investigate how these channels exert their functions throughout the body.
